Artist Mickey Smith has collected contemporary handmade jewellery since 1987. Mickey has collected works from around the globe and in the course of her travels, established close relationships with fellow artists and designers. A maker herself with a degree in metal smithing, beginning November 2025, Mickey will hand carry these artists works to private viewing salon style evenings of connection, conversation and collection.

After my husband died, I went back to school and received a degree in metalsmithing. Much of the work made during this time of creative rebirth underscores the existential and temporal dependence on science, turning medication and medicine into wearable works of art. In a time where there is a pill to cure every ailment, physical or emotional, these works consider the purpose, reverence and prevalence of pharmaceuticals in our everyday lives.
