COMING SOON: Knockers Up
A merchant marine for the first 20 years of his hard working life, truck driver for the second 20 years, Al Smith (1930-2020), passed on a trove of wisdom and colorful phrases to his only daughter, Michelle. Working with CHANK fonts, we created a font made from my Dad’s handwriting for the 2015 Harboured exhibition.
In celebration of his life and recent death – in a time when we could all use a but more humor and a good talking to – I’m revisiting our recorded phone conversations, working up a few t-shirts and trucker caps for a bit of fun this holiday season. Stay tuned, sign up to the mailing list. Until then, “Keep your legs crossed and your knockers up!”
